The 4th of July Wisconsin Style

We have had some visitors here since Wednesday and some of you might recognize them.
Photobucket
Joe and Amy for those of you who don't. And I better not forget about this yappy little visitor either (no I am not talking about Joe).

Her name is Asia just in case you haven't met her.

Wednesday night I cooked them blueberry pancakes for dinner and yes I did take pictures and yes there will be a future post with these delicious delights. Thursday we took them out to eat at a place called Fin and Feather about 20 miles south of us in the Kettle Morine Forest. Always a good place to eat as they have a good menu selection.

Yesterday we decided to take them to Sheboygan and hangout along Lake Michigan for the day.

We decided to take a walk along the boardwalk and visit the shops and look at the boats all along the marina.

There are all sorts of bars and pubs (this is after all Wisconsin) along the boardwalks so for a break we stopped at one of the local pubs that specializes in British beers and ales.
Photobucket
This is the one I chose, a British Ale, which I don't remember the name of but it was good. It remind me of a home made beer because it lacked the amount of carbonation our American beers have.

From here we headed back to the park to grab a bite to eat. I decided on a Chicago style hot dog. Why? Because it was there and my curiosity got the best of me.

Look at all the stuff on that thing. I think all they do is empty out the produce bin on the refrigerator to make this hot dog. It was different, but a good different.

We decided to hang around the park because at 6:00 pm a band called the Britin's were to start playing. The Britin's are a cover band imitating the Beatles. The dress and talk like the Beatles and of course the only songs they perform are the Beatles songs. They start with the oldest songs and work their way up to the newest songs. They were a great night of entertainment.

This is Paul and Ringo

This is John. And I didn't get a picture of George because he was behind a post from where we were sitting.

And what would a Wisconsin party be without some genuine Wisconsin beer.
Photobucket

Yep, beer tent, fake Beatles band, brats, hotdogs, beautiful weather, Lake Michigan, picnic table to sit on, what else do you need for a 4th of July celebration. Oh, maybe fireworks eh?

To be continued.........

BONUS COVERAGE
Little sister asked today what everybody was cooking for the holiday weekend so I thought I would add a picture of our Saturday night meal.
Photobucket
St. Louis cut bbq ribs, grilled salad with roasted cherry tomatoes, red pepper and onions all topped with a raspberry vinaigrette, and grilled bread.

The salad with the roasted vegetables could be a meal in itself and will be in the future. If you haven't tried this what are you waiting for? Let's get busy.

Underneath that mass of produce was a hot dog somewhere.
